Dao Le Arrives as the New U.S. Consul General in Jeddah

The U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah is pleased to announce the arrival of the new Consul General, Mr. Dao Le.

Consul General Le is also serving as the U.S. Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

He is eager to contribute to the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia.


With over 30 years of U.S. government service, Mr. Le brings a breadth of experience from his assignments across the Middle East, Asia, and North America.

Most recently, he served as the Executive Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the Department of Commerce.


His extensive career includes service in the region: Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

He has also served in India, Singapore and Vietnam as well as in the United States in Washington, D.C., Cincinnati, and in Silicon Valley.

Mr. Le is a Santa Clara University graduate and holds a Master’s degree from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. He is proficient in Arabic, Spanish, and Vietnamese.


Mr. Le is married with children and looks forward to engaging with the community in Jeddah and the western region of Saudi Arabia.
