The automated umbrellas cover the area of 143,000 m2 surrounding the Prophet's Holy Mosque on all four sides.

The umbrellas were made to special specifications that are highly resistant to wind, fire, and rain.

They were installed on the pillars in the squares of the Prophet's Holy Mosque in order to protect visitors and worshippers from the risks of sun and rain exposure, as they are made of special materials such as Teflon, which is resistant to fire, climatic factors, and ultraviolet rays.

Each umbrella is equipped with rain and torrents drainage systems, as well as night lighting systems, and they can withstand powerful winds, and shades an area of 800 worshippers. The umbrellas operate with a flexible automated system, and its parts include arms covered with carbon fiber glass embellished with mosaic, with 436 mist fans installed on its poles to humidify the air.
