The Red Sea International Film Festival (RedSeaIFF) in partnership with VOX Cinemas and the MBC GROUP, today announced that renowned director Luca Guadagnino will participate in an intimate In-Conversation ahead of a special screening of his latest film Bones and All at this year’s edition of the Jeddah-based Festival.
The In-Conversation, to be held on December 2 at VOX Cinemas Red Sea Mall, will see the Academy Award-nominated Italian director discuss his luminous career to date, including his films A Bigger Splash, Call Me by Your Name and Suspiria. There will be a particular focus on his latest film Bones and All, which will screen that evening
at the Festival
In Bones and All, Guadagnino tells the story of first love between Maren, a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee, an intense and disenfranchised drifter. Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet lead an ensemble cast that includes Michael Stuhlbarg, André Holland, Chloë Sevigny, David Gordon Green, Jessica Harper, Jake Horowitz and Mark Rylance. Bones and All had its World Premiere at this year's Venice International Film Festival, where Guadagnino won the Silver Lion for Best Director.
The screenplay is by David Kajganich, based on the novel by Camille DeAngelis. BONES AND ALL is an MGM Studios (an Amazon company) acquisition and is distributed by United Artists Releasing in the U.S., Vision Distribution in Italy, and Warner Bros. Pictures in the rest of the world.
Mohammed Al Turki, CEO of the RedSeaIFF, said: “With each successive film that he makes, Luca Guadagnino continues to defy expectations and push the boundaries of storytelling and filmmaking. His latest, Bones and All, is a testament to the dedication he has for his craft and the drive he has to expand his audiences’ minds. We could not be more honoured to host such a trailblazing director, and film at the Festival, as we continue to highlight pioneering talent and ground-breaking international films.”
The Festival is set to run from December 1 — 10 and will present 131 feature films and shorts from 61 countries in 41 languages from both established and emerging talent.
