Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 24 November 2022: The Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Huawei have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote ICT innovation and talent development. Under the terms of the agreement, the Ministry and the global ICT leader will provide ICT training programs of common interest, exchange expertise and support national innovation programs at the university level.
Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, the Saudi Minister of Education and Eric Yang, CEO of Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia and other senior executives from the Ministry and Huawei attended the signing ceremony. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Sustainable Partnerships Conference on November 23 and 24 in Riyadh under the theme of "Research & Innovation to Build a Thriving Economy".
Eric Yang, CEO of Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia, said, "Saudi Arabia has emerged as a true global technology leader. But the country's digital ambitions extend even further, necessitating the need to accelerate the ICT talent development process. As a long-term partner for Saudi digital transformation goals, we are proud to expand our already solid partnership with the government through this MoU to add new ICT capabilities to the country's youth."
Huawei CSR initiatives such as the ICT Academy, the annual ICT Competition, and Seeds for the Future are empowering thousands of young people in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere to pursue rewarding careers in ICT.
