One of the ancient landmarks flowing in the Holy Mosque since the time of Ismael peace be upon him, and to the end of time. The miraculous and blessed water spring of Zamzam was named after the words Hajar said while trying to surround the water with her hands when it first flowed saying "zummi zummi".
The well of Zamzam is fed by ancient bedrocks through three faults that extend beneath the Holy Ka'ba, which are the spring facing the black corner, another spring opposite to Abu Qubias Mountain and Al-Safa, and the third spring facing Al-Marwa. The entrances leading to the well were roofed to make the most of the circumambulation area.
