Comedy’s global rock star Russell Peters is coming to the award-winning Maraya on 18th February 2022. The stand-up show forms part of the AlUla Arts festival under the events umbrella of AlUla Moments.
From Los Angeles to the ancient desert city of AlUla in North West Arabia, tickets will undoubtedly sell fast for the popular and provocative comedian, the first in the comedy category to be part of the AlUla events calendar.
Emmy, Peabody and Gemini award winning Peters has set attendance records at venues from Madison Square Garden to The Sydney Opera House to London’s O2 Arena – where he broke the UK attendance record for highest number of tickets sold for an individual comedy show.
Russell Peters’ unique perspective and hilarious style brings laughter across the globe. He was recently named as one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics of All Time. He started doing stand-up at the age of nineteen at open mics in his native Toronto, and spent the next fifteen years honing his craft at clubs across Canada and the UK.
Maraya’s intimate auditorium is more commonly filled with music having recently hosted world superstars Andrea Bocelli and Alicia Keys and is also set to welcome Seal on February 17th. This time however, the multi-purpose mirror-clad venue that reflects the rolling sands and rocks of the Ashar Valley – will be bursting laughter.
Peters just launched his Act Your Age World Tour in Cairo in December and has seen sold out shows in Abu Dhabi, Amman, Chicago, New York, Washington DC and Houston. He can also currently be seen in Paramount Pictures’ Clifford The Big Red Dog.
