Price rising during summer is a very well known fact specially for hotels. However, Makkah Newspaper has revealed that this summer is witnessing moderate to low hotel room prices through an experience that measures hotel prices according specific criteria. The results show that most hotels in Jeddah have reduced or maintained price stability, despite the busy schedule of Jeddah Season. In addition, luxury hotels’ prices in Riyadh reflects their reliance on businessmen visits, as they often rise during the weekdays. Whereas hotels’ prices in resort cities as Abha and Al-Hada have risen while some of them have no reservations available during September.

Criteria of the Experiment:

• All prices are taken from booking.com website.
• Prices are for one night stay of a room for two people
• No features added such as breakfast, unless provided free of charge
• Prices do not include any taxes or surcharges
• The list includes 5, 4 and 3 stars hotels and various options such as hotel rooms, hotel apartments and chalets, according to Booking.
• The comparison is on prices when booking during the summer vacation season weekdays on Monday 24 June and weekends on Friday 28 June, and off-season weekdays on Monday 16 September and weekends on Friday 20 September.
