HE, the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Advisor Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, announced Riyadh Season's sponsorship of Al-Hilal’s channel on the global platform DAZN, a step that enhances the club's presence in the international media landscape. As part of this sponsorship, Riyadh Season will oversee the content and programs broadcasted on the channel, contributing to a unique experience for the club's fans.
In a statement, Alalshikh explained that this channel will feature exclusive programs and interviews, daily reports on training sessions, behind-the-scenes access to the players’ locker rooms, and will broadcast certain friendly matches. It will also include programs sponsored by Riyadh Season, featuring some of the top stars worldwide.
He added: 'In addition to this channel expanding Al-Hilal's reach from Japan to the United States, through DAZN’s presence in 200 countries around the world, it will also generate significant revenue for Al-Hilal through commercial advertising on the channel or direct contracts. DAZN is now also looking into sponsoring Al-Hilal, which is no surprise given Fahad bin Nafel’s success as one of the most accomplished club presidents globally. Riyadh Season seeks success and has become a strategic partner in this sports channel, which is something Riyadh Season takes pride in.'
HE also revealed that partnerships are open with other clubs, stating that negotiations are currently underway with Al-Nassr Club to arrange a match between Al-Nassr and an international team, with a response from them still pending.
Regarding the benefits of the partnership between Al-Hilal and DAZN, Alalshikh mentioned that Saudi citizens abroad, as well as the club's Arab and global fanbase, particularly given the large number of stars in Al-Hilal and the Saudi league, will greatly benefit.
He added: 'We don’t have specialized channels similar to international club channels, so this is a great opportunity to achieve that, especially with a global partner focused on success. This comes at a time when we have achieved great success in boxing and other events, and I am confident that Al-Hilal’s fanbase subscribing to the platform could reach up to two million people.'
HE also emphasized that the opportunity is available to all Saudi clubs, stating: 'Any club interested in collaborating with DAZN through Riyadh Season is more than welcome.'
The signing took place in the British capital, London, between Al-Hilal Saudi Club, represented by the Chairman of Al-Hilal Company, Mr. Fahad bin Nafel, and DAZN, represented by Kacy Grine, President of DAZN in the Middle East and North Africa.
The channel will be available globally, exclusively on the DAZN app, offering an unprecedented experience for Al-Hilal fans. It will allow them to follow the matches, along with a wide variety of exclusive content, including interviews with players and coaching staff, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from training sessions and match days. The content will also feature special reports highlighting the club's history, achievements, and future vision.
This partnership is part of a collaboration between three leading entities in the fields of entertainment, media, and sports: Riyadh Season, which supports the channel as the official sponsor, DAZN, and Al-Hilal, the most decorated club in the Saudi Pro League, with numerous league titles and AFC Champions League victories.
Through this collaboration, world-class content, overseen by Riyadh Season, will be delivered, combining sports, media, and entertainment expertise. This enhances the Kingdom's position as a global sports destination by broadcasting the most prominent Saudi football events.
Kacy Grine, President of DAZN in the Middle East and North Africa, commented on this collaboration: 'We are proud to work with Al-Hilal, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and with Riyadh Season, which has become a global symbol of entertainment and sports. This partnership offers Al-Hilal fans a unique experience and will allow us to tell inspiring stories about a club that continues to make history.'
The channel is set to launch before the end of the year, starting with live broadcasts of Al-Hilal’s matches, along with numerous exclusive programs and content. This will provide fans with an unprecedented opportunity to stay updated on all the latest developments related to the most successful club in the Saudi Pro League.
